Wienen Takes Third at Texas

Second round of racing concluded this past weekend at Underground MX in Kemp, Texas and the AMA ATV MX PRO National Circuit endured some notorious Spring Texas storms. In wet and muddy conditions, Wienen Motorsports' Chad Wienen went 3-2 throughout the day for a third overall position in the overall.

The Pros were able to have one round of practice in the morning before the rains fell and Wienen qualified third fastest.

Lightning and thunderstorms pushed racing back time and time again throughout the day and finally at 4 pm the first gate dropped for moto 1. Wienen came out of the first turn just inside the top 5. Moving into third by the end of the first lap, Wienen remained in the third place position until the checkers flew.

Wienen once again came out of the first turn just inside the top five when the gate dropped for moto 2 and he quickly made passes to sit in the second place spot before the end of the first lap. Unable to make any advances in the field, Wienen once again was kept to the same position through the entirety of the race and finished moto two in second.

"The conditions this past weekend were less than ideal but to make it out of a mud race still on the podium still makes for a good weekend. I am looking forward to the next event at Ironman MX in Indiana at the end of April and until then am going to continue to push forward to work towards that top spot on the box." Said Wienen.

On Sunday Wienen participated in the Production Stock Premier Class and went 1-1 for the Overall win. In both motos, Wienen was able to move into the first place position before the end of the first lap and went on to continue to hold the lead during the entire duration of the race.

"With limited changes to the stock machine, the Stock Premier class is an exciting race to be apart of. With Texas' conditions and it being the first race of it's kind I am looking forward to seeing the class grow throughout the year and partake in some epic battles aboard my YFZ450R."

Round 3 of AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship series will conclude at Ironman MX in Indiana April 27 & 28.
