Starts have been off for Wienen recently and that didn't change as the gate dropped in moto 1. Wienen came out of the first turn just inside the top ten. Making quick work of the field Wienen started to quickly make passes and had moved up into third before the end of the first lap. After making up some ground, Wienen was finally able to move up into the second place position just before halfway through and despite putting in the fastest lap of the moto after moving into second, Wienen was unable to make any advances and finished moto 1 in second.

With a better start in moto 2, Wienen came out of the second turn in second place. Applying pressure to the rider in first, Wienen made the pass for the lead on the second lap. Wienen continued on to put distance between himself and the rest of the field and crossed the checkered flag 25 seconds in front of the rest of the field.

"It was a great 2017 year in the books topping off the year with a win at the finale. Thank you to my support group who makes this all happen and excited for our trip to Europe next week for PDV and the QXON. " said Wienen
