With a 2-3 finish, Wienen Motorsports' Chad Wienen finished third overall this past weekend at Muddy Creek Raceway.

Wienen got a good jump off the gate in moto 1 but as they came around the first turn was pushed out to the outside and dropped back into the fourth place position. Wienen moved his way into third before the end of the second lap and then continued to pressure the rider in second until he was able to make a pass with 5 laps to go. Wienen went on to take second place in moto 1.

As the gate dropped for moto 2, Wienen once again got a good start off the gate but halfway up the Muddy Creek holeshot was hit from the side and almost came off of the machine. Wienen was able to regain himself and machine and started to work his way towards the pack in the second to last position. Knowing he had to make quick moves, Wienen gained his way up to ninth before the end of the first lap. Putting in the fastest laps of the moto, Wienen slowing started making advances on the field and just before the halfway mark worked his way into fourth. Wienen was in fourth for three laps until he was finally able to make a pass into third with a four second difference between himself and second. Wienen started clicking off the distance and with one lap to go was less than a second behind but was unable to make a pass before the checkers came out and finished moto 2 in third.

"I was fortunate to get on the box this weekend after a near get off in the moto 2 start. I felt good on my Yamaha this weekend, we are looking forward to the next round in Illinois where I grew up racing and get to have the Home Town crowd in attendance to cheer me on. Thank you to my Sponsors and Support group on all they do."

The series heads to Wienen's home track at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL next on June 16th.
