Janssen Top 5 at Spring Creek

The state of Minnesota is known as the “land of ten thousand lakes”, but around the Millville area it is known to be the home of one of the greatest motocross facilities our country has to offer. Cody Janssen, reigning ATV Derby Pro World Champion, continues to regain his health after this massive early-season get off and with getting healthier, riding at the faster pace he is known for is becoming more of the norm. With Millville, Minnesota’s Spring Creek Mx being a “home” race for the rider of the #25, Cody looked to continue this upward trend again this past weekend.
Janssen, who was on rails last year at Minnesota, rode in a similar manner especially on the Sunday portion of the AMA ATV National program at Spring Creek, highlighted by a very impressive top 5 finish in Pro Am Moto 2! Cody wasn’t in podium contention after a subpar first moto, but it’s safe to say the old Cody is closer to being back that ever! That top 5 saw him make pass after pass racing through the pack and one can just see it and feel it when around the 24-year-old this week, he is about to burst out a with a huge performance at one of these next races. I think Unadilla could very well be the perfect place to see Janssen up on the podium. In the Pro Class, Janssen finished 12th overall. I know that isn’t where Cody wants to be, but with some of the passes he made Saturday and the pace he was running, the #25 is clearly moving in the right direction and I think top 10s and more should be where we see the former AMA ATV Pro Rookie of the Year for the rest of the season.
“I won’t lie, that top 5 felt pretty good.” Janssen said with a grin. “I want to win these things, but with how tough it’s been, a top 5 feels like a lot more [than just a top 5]. I feel so much stronger and faster than any other time since my
accident. People don’t see the time I’ve been putting in, not just at the track and in the gym, but at physical therapy, icing/massaging/with lasers/etc. It’s a full time job just trying to get my body to be able to compete on the weekends. But it’s all up from here, I’m finally at a point where I feel I can push my pace on the track. I’m REALLY looking forward to these next couple races, I’ve had a lot of big time performances at Unadilla, Red Bud, and Loretta’s. I can’t wait!”
Cody’s run at podiums and race wins wouldn’t be possible without the great care and support of the people that continue to back him. He must thank his parents/family and the rest of the Janssen Motorsports crew; Thank you to the Londerville family and Londerville Steel for stepping up for Cody when he needed it most. Thank you to Elka Suspension for their support of the #25, phenomenal products and people.
