Wienen Finishes 1-2 at Sunset

The AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship traveled to Wienen Motorsports' Chad Wienen's homestate of Illinois this past weekend where Wienen finished 1-2 on the day for second overall.

Wienen took to the track in the morning practices and grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier Award.

As the gate dropped for moto 1, Wienen came out of the first turn in the third place position but was able to make some quick moves and made the pass for the lead within the next few turns. Wienen continued on to maintain the lead and win the first moto of the day.

In moto 2, Wienen once again came out of the first turn in third.  In the first lap he had moved into second and had made a few attempts to make the pass into first but was unable to make the passes stick. Wienen continued out the moto in the second place position.

With no points lost or gained Wienen maintains a 22-point lead on the field in the championship points races as they series heads to Millville Minnesota for the next round of Racing July 2.

The series will return in two weeks at Spring Creek MX in Millville, Minn. July 2.
