Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs’ team came home from Red Bud MX this past weekend with its best pro races to date. Ronnie Higgerson finished fifth overall on Saturday and Casey Martin pulled the first moto holeshot in the Mt. Dew AMA ATV motocross series.
The #665 of Ronnie Higgerson took his good luck from the past race in New York and carried that to Red Bud MX. This past weekend Higgerson showed with a great start, the right conditioning and the right quad underneath of him he can hang with the fastest riders in the world. With a sixth place start in moto one Higgerson quickly found himself in third place for the majority of the race. After an intense battle on the last lap with Thomas Brown, Higgerson would ultimately take the checkered flag in fourth place giving Higgerson his personal best finish in the Pro Class as well as the best moto finish for Vechery Racing. The second moto would again see Higgerson battling for the majority of the race with Jeffrey Rastrelli for the fourth overall position on the very rough Michigan track. In the end Higgerson would just come up short and would take his Elka Suspension/Six5Design Honda home with a very respectable fifth overall. “This past weekend at Red Bud was by far the best round to date not only for myself but my team as well. Good starts got us in the top right away and we ran strong from there. I can't thank my team, my family, friends and people who support me enough. I couldn't be here without all of you!! Now time to finish the season strong with an appearance on the pro podium at Lorettas,” exclaimed Higgerson.
Casey Martin made his return to the track with a statement. With the first gate drop on the day Martin had all kinds of traction with his Maxxis Tires as he opened up his Dasa Powered/TDR Built Honda to take the SSI Decals Holeshot and then lead the majority of the first lap. Martin would then settle in for the rest of the moto to take a 10th place finish. The second moto Martin would find himself in the top ten for the majority of the race. 10-12 moto scores would end up giving Martin 12th overall on the weekend. “I ripped the Pro Moto one holeshot today and led the first lap before dropping off. I was still pretty happy with my finishes considering I hadn't sat on a quad since Millville. I would like to thank Vechery Racing and thank you Nancy Stone for the flight to and from Michigan,” said Martin.
Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs Satellite support rider Alex Pafford would go onto finish third in School Boy Sr. again this weekend and 18th overall in Youth All Star. Youth rider Tristan Evans continues to terrorize four classes every weekend taking home a first, third, fourth and eighth place overall finishes. Tristan currently sits first, second, third and fourth overall in his respective youth classes.
