We get the scoop with up and comer Dan Hoisington after his recent win at Motorama
ATVmotocross.com: Dan you just returned from racing Motorama, how did that work out for you?
Dan Hoisington: Motorama was a good weekend for Vechery Racing and me. I Won the pro am race on Saturday which was very exciting for me. It was my first race on the team so I wanted to make sure I did well.
Was this your first time racing that event?
This was my first time racing here and the facility was really big and had lots of events going on. I plan on racing it next year again.
It looks like most of the Vechery team was there racing or in support?
Yea the whole Vechery Race team was there which was awesome. We had our pit tent setup inside with the New Six 5 Design 450 hybrid, which was getting a lot of attention from the crowd at Motorama. The new Hybrid will be Tim Dettlings Pro AM bike this year. Also Vechery Racings pro rider Tyler Hamrick and Rookie of the year was there as well.
You are racing A class and College 16-24 this year, those classes full of fast riders, what advantages do you think you will carry to the gate?
I am racing A class and the College 16-24 this year. I've been going to the gym a lot so my advantages are being in good shape and also having a positive attitude. I've gotten a lot of good holeshots in the past so I think that is another great advantage for me.
How has being on the Vechery Team helped you and what goals have you set for yourself?
Being on the Vechery Team has helped me a lot. They helped me with getting all my sponsors for this year, and I cant thank the Vechery race family enough for that. Tim Dettling also has been helping me out with training and always has good advice. To be on a team with two Pro riders is awesome thing for me. My goals for this year is to win a A Class championship and a College 16-24 championship for Vechery Racing and then I plan on running Pro AM for 2015.
We wish you the best of luck in the upcoming season Dan, is there anyone you would like to thank
I would like to Thanks all sponsors Vechery Racing, Maxxis, NeverSleep Designs, Six 5 Designs, Troy Lee Designs, Cycles R us, KSR exhaust, my brother Ray and of course mom and dad!
