EAST SPRINGFIELD PA - The Mtn. Dew AMA Amateur National Championship, “Team of The Year" JB Racing Founder and Owner Jody Bateman along with Factory Can Am, DWT, and Mtn. Dew Live Wire are proud to announce Pro Rider Joel Hetrick as the newest addition to the 2014 JB Racing Team.
Hetrick begins his fourth year in the AMA Pro ATV Motocross division reuniting with a longtime supporter from his amateur racing and his former Motoworks Can Am mechanic, Darrin Thomas. This combination has very high expectations for the year with Joel back riding on a Can Am and Darrin as his mechanic. It could mean many trips to the podium, and a championship contention for Hetrick and all his supporters.
JB Racing says thank you to Corrosion Specialties, Makson, Elka, Fly Racing, Precision Concepts, SSI Decals, Root River Racing, Pafford Air Flight, Rath, Quadtech, FMF, Renthal, ODI, Hinson Racing, Motul Oil, DP Brakes, Outerwears, Powermadd, Scott Goggles, Alpinestars, and of course his family with Hetrick Racing for all the support they are giving Hetrick in his bid for the title..
Joel seems ready to go, as he expressed in a text from Texas where he has been training. “Hey, I felt good today. The bike worked really well and I didn't get tired! I have been working out really hard and it showed today. Just wanted to let you know, I’m glad to be riding for JB Racing and really excited for the year.” The rumors out of Texas are his lap times were already faster than they had been at the end of the season.
As many of you know, Hetrick runs the number of his childhood hero, Matt Bartosek. With Joel now being under the JB banner, he brings the number 88 back to Debi Bartosek. This is rewarding as Joel and Debi have dedicated the last ten years to keeping his memory alive. Debi, with the 88 Live to Ride Foundation and Joel Hetrick putting the number 88 up front as much as possible.
In other great JB Racing Team news, returning sponsor Cheerwine will be supporting Pro rider #728 Jeffrey Rastrelli. Rastrelli is no stranger to the JB Team, as he has been under the banner since he was riding 90 Mod in the Youth Division. Last year Jeffrey switched to Can Am and as the year progressed and he became more comfortable with the machine, his lap times and finishes showed in the end.
At the Caleb Moore ATV Pro Challenge, Rastrelli was clocked with the fastest lap of the weekend among the fastest ATV Motocross riders in the world. Rastrelli has been in Florida training and is rumored to be down 10 pounds and ready to show everyone what he is capable of in 2014.
Also returning to the JB/ Cheerwine tent will be Duck Lloyd. Lloyd was plagued with injuries late last season but still had enough points lead to win the Plus 25 National Championship. After several Pro Am podiums in 2013, Lloyd will return to the Pro Am class and the Open A class. New for 2014, Lloyd will be making the switch to Can Am. With JB Racing having the Factory support, and Can Am supporting the sport, this move makes the most sense. Lloyd has been riding between VA, NC, and GA as he is getting more comfortable with his new Can Am machine.
Maddison Guyer and Blake Sarver will also be returning to the JB/Cheerwine Team. Both were National Champions in their respected classes in 2013. Maddie will be riding a 300 Honda in the Schoolboy Production and the Schoolgirl Production class. She still is contemplating defending her title in the Girls 12-15 class as well.
Sarver will be riding a JB Mod in the Schoolboy Mod class and a Honda 400 in the Schoolboy Sr class.
Brogan Guyer, a 2011 National Champion, will be back as well and competing in the 90 mod, 90 shifter, and Supermini classes. He will be riding a JB Mod in all three classes. Guyer was in contention for two National Championships in 2013, but a few mechanical woes cost him and he ended up with runner-ups in both classes.
Tyler Peters will be returning and looking for strong results along with Podium finishes. He will be riding a JB Mod in the Schoolboy Mod and the Schoolboy Sr classes. Peters posted several top 5 finishes along with a moto win in KY. His 2013 top five ranking will motivate him for great results in 2014.
Grayson Eller will return in 2014 after a season of ups and downs in 2013. After winning round one in GA in the 90 mod class, Eller suffered a practice crash at the next round and the rest of the season was spent trying to get back to where he was at the first of the year. Eller, like Peters, posted several top five finishes, and ended up with a top 5 overall in 2013. He will be returning to the Schoolboy Production class on a 300 Honda and also will be riding a JB Mod in the Schoolboy Mod and the Schoolboy Sr classes.
JB Racing has to thank the following sponsors for supporting these seven teammates; Cheerwine, DWT, Fly Racing, SSI Decals, ITP Tires, PEP Shocks, Precision Concepts, ODI, Rath, Hinson Racing, DP Brakes, Outerwears, Powermadd, Quadtech, FMF, Baldwin Motorsports, ICW, Guyer the Mover, Peter’s Landscaping, Lloyd Concrete, Rastrelli Grading, and Makson.
