Wienen Motorsports’ Team Back to the Podium at Birch Creek MX

Wienen took 1st and Brown claimed 3rd at Round 6

Chad Wienen and Thomas Brown took to the podium again at Round 6 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA aboard their Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Race Craft Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machines. Wienen went 1-3 taking his fourth consecutive overall win and Brown claimed his fifth third place overall of the season with a 2-4 finish for the day.

ƒ‚ Conditions weren’t ideal but that seems to be the trend of the 2013 season but even so Wienen was able to come out of the first turn in second. Brown had second gate pick but due to conditions had to settle coming out of the first turn just outside the top ten. Wienen went on to take over the lead by the second lap and create a seven second gap on the rest of the field by the time he crossed the finish line and took the moto 1 win. Brown had a lot of work ahead of him to make his way up to the front of the field but put his head down and never looked back making his way up to fifth by the halfway point. Brown then continued to push forward and was able to make a pass into second with three laps to go.

ƒ‚ ƒ“Adapting quick to the track conditions and a great start were key to my win this weekend.ƒ‚ ƒ‚  Track was tight lined that made it very tough for passing.ƒ‚  I knew what I had to do in Moto 2 to get the overall and I did what I needed to do to get the overall for the weekend.ƒ‚  Thank you everyone for the support!ƒ” said Wienen.

As the gate dropped for moto 2 the Wienen Motorsports duo came out of the first turn, Wienen in third, Brown in fourth. Each rider tried to make advances in the field but was unable to make any clean passes. Wienen went on to finish third for his fourth consecutive overall win and Brown took fourth in moto 2 to secure third overall for the weekend.

ƒ‚ ƒ“I’m really happy to be back up on the podium this weekend. Didn’t have the finish I wanted in moto 2 but I’m happy with the overall results and really looking forward to coming back after our June break and making my way up higher on the podium. Shout out to all of our sponsors who help us get up on the podium each weekend!ƒ” said Brown.

The 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, will resume for Round 7 July 6th at Steel City MX in Delmont, PA.
