Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Dustin Wimmer Dominates
Round 2 of the AMA ATV MX Championship
Round 2 - 2009 AMA ATV MX Championship

Brea, Calif. - Backing up his opening round victory and working to defend his championship, Dustin Wimmer dominated both motos of the AMA ATV MX Championship at Millcreek Raceway in Pell City, Alabama.
In Moto 1, Wimmer was forced to work his way through the field, eventually taking the lead from rookie Nick DeNoble. It took Wimmer just a few laps to secure the lead, and from there he rode a nearly perfect moto.
With increased confidence and a better gate pick, Wimmer needed just a couple short laps before taking the lead in the afternoon race. His Rockstar Makita Suzuki QuadRacer R450 powered him to the Moto 2 victory, earning a first-place finish for the weekend.
"Starting off the season with two wins definitely has me motivated," said Wimmer. He's motivated, but not over-confident. "I'm going to take it race by race, try to be as consistent as possible, and win another championship for the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing team."
Wimmer's teammate and former champion Doug Gust finished in sixth-place overall for the weekend. "Getting a good start is really important this year because the competition is so much faster," said Doug Gust. "Hopefully I'll be able to avoid any first turn pile ups and I'll get my Suzuki QuadRacer R450 on the podium at Bowling Green."
The Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing team will compete in the third round of the 2009 AMA ATV MX Championship season April 5 in Bowling Green, Ky.
