With six Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Quadcross of Nations titles and one runner-up finish to the AMA U.S. ATV Motocross Team’s record, the team has selected Decker Training Facility/K5 Motorsports/Walsh Race Craft’s Zack Decker, Phoenix Racing Yamaha’s Joel Hetrick and ML2 Motorsports/Walsh Race Craft/Maxxis/Yamaha’s Max Lindquist to represent America at the international competition. The event is scheduled for September 26-27 in Dardon, France.

The event, which is an FIM World Championship, will once again be held in conjunction with FIM Sidecarcross. The team has yet to compete in France, so this new venue will require careful study, preparation and focus before each rider races two 25-minute motos. The best five scores are combined for the overall finish position. Racers will not only have more than 6,000 attendees watching them onsite at the event, but also 357 million global TV and streaming viewers.

Yamaha has supported the team with platinum sponsorship since its inception. The company continues its resolute support of the team’s international efforts, as the trio of U.S.-based riders will contest aboard Yamaha YFZ450R machines against competitors from 20 countries.

Since the team’s establishment, U.S. racers have competed under the guidance of team manager Mark Baldwin of Baldwin Motorsports.

“The team is eager to earn another Quadcross of Nations title, especially after finishing runner-up last year,” said Team Manager Mark Baldwin. “With so many top riders here in the U.S., selection of the team is always a tough process. It’s not only critical to have talented riders, but also good ambassadors representing the United States. There are a number of factors that go into choosing a unified team. We are excited to reclaim our title with Zack, Joel and Max.”

This will mark Decker’s first time serving on the team, but it won’t be his first time competing in an international competition. The Florida resident recently competed in the FIM Quadcross World Championship in Poland, where he finished first out of 32 entries from 10 different countries. He will most likely line up against some of the same competitors in France.

“Being selected to represent the team is an incredible honor and a dream come true,” said Decker. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to wear the USA jersey and compete alongside such talented athletes. I’m proud to represent my country and look forward to giving my very best.”

Hetrick is the veteran of the team, as this will be his seventh time representing the U.S. The six-time AMA Pro ATV Motocross National Champion currently leads the 2026 series standings.

“Being selected to represent the team for the seventh time is an incredible honor that never gets old,” said Hetrick. “Wearing the USA jersey means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete alongside such an amazing group of athletes. Last year, we came up short of our goal, and that has only fueled my motivation. We’re heading back with something to prove and bring home that top spot!”

Lindquist, based in Wisconsin, is currently ranked third in the 2026 AMA Pro ATV Motocross National Championship. He will make his debut on the international team.

“The team has been a dream for me from the beginning of its existence,” said Lindquist. “I have attended the riding schools and fundraising events as an amateur with aspirations to one day go. I’m honored and grateful to have this amazing opportunity to compete with the best in the world. I look forward to representing this amazing country and racing community we have in the U.S. I look forward to working as a team with this incredible group of athletes — with the ultimate goal of bringing the title back to the USA!”

The AMA U.S. ATV Motocross Team is an independently operated program established in 2017 to field three riders from the AMA Pro ATV Motocross National Championship in the FIM Quadcross of Nations. Although the team is comprised of riders from the championship, it is privately owned, operated and funded. The American Motorcyclist Association serves as the official national federation by submitting the U.S. team’s entry to the FIM.

As with other international competitions, including the FIM Motocross of Nations and the FIM International Six Days Enduro, rider selection includes discussions among team management and key stakeholders while considering factors such as competitive performance, rider availability, logistics, funding, professionalism, and each rider’s ability to contribute to a cohesive team representing the United States on the international stage.

Fundraising to support the team’s effort has already begun. Fans can support the team by purchasing team apparel during AMA ATV Motocross National Championship events.
