UnitedMotorsports.com/Media Allstar/Musick Racing Riders Tackle Daytona SX

[Lexington, KY] –The Unitedmotorsports.com, Musick Racing, Media Allstars Team kicked off the 2024 AMA ATV Motocross season at historic Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach Florida as part of the week long Daytona Bike week festivities and events. The Speedway in Daytona has long been hollowed ground for auto racing but this time 4 wheeled racing of a different kind ruled the scene.

2023 Pro Class Rookie Kevin Saar #31 put in a really solid ride aboard his JH Racing powered Yamaha YFZ450R machine.  Saar looked strong and showed he was ready to bang bars with the fastest racers in the world again in 2024.  The 5-time European Champion earned a hard fought 5th place in his heat race on the rough challenging Daytona SX track.  Saar would start his main strong running in 9th place for the first half of the moto until an unfortunate crash took him out of the running for the day.  Kevin took a nasty spill but should make a complete recovery as he prepares for round 2 in Texas.

Brett Musick #209 owner of Musick Racing, former Pro Racer and recent Pro Sport National Champion got off to a great start to the day by taking home the 2nd fastest qualifying time in the Pro Sport Class at Daytona.  Musick then went on to show he had the speed by taking a 2nd in his heat race.  Musick used his solid gate pick for the main to position himself for a strong start and as they rounded the first turn in the Main event he was inside the top 5 but as we all know “racing” can happen out there on the track and Brett found himself on the ground just 2 turns into the moto.  The JH Racing powered Honda rider dusted himself off though and charged through the pack to salvage as many points as possible placing 13th but most importantly leaving with just a few cracked ribs and damaged pride.

Last but most certainly not least is Clyde, North Carolina’s Heath Hannah.  Heath is new to our team this year and we can tell we are going to like this young man already!  The #61 TDR powered Yamaha rider didn’t get his race machine together until 2 days before the opening round and with little time to test, tune and work the kinks out.  That didn’t seem to matter though as Hannah used his hard-nosed and tenacious riding style to overcome any shortcomings the lack of machine testing may have.  Earning 7th place in his Pro Sport heat race just wasn’t going to cut it for this determined rider.  Hannah like Brett Musick was involved in an early moto tangle in the Pro Sport class main event and like Musick he dusted himself off and charged hard through the pack.  The #61 machine never lifted off the gas and picked off riders left and right.  As the moto wore on Hannah’s endurance showed supreme as other riders were dropping like flys, crashing and making mistakes in the brutal Daytona sand.  When the checkered flag flew Hannah found that his hard work had paid off and he had earned his very first Pro Sport podium finish by coming across the finish line in 3rd place!  It was a great race and a huge reward for working his tail off and never giving up.

Race seasons are long and grueling at times but our riders are up to the challenge.  Kevin Saar and Brett Musick will regroup and Heath Hannah will try to capitalize on his new found success as we head into round 2 at Underground MX in Kemp Texas on April 6th.  We are super proud of our riders and excited to get the racing started in 2024.
