Action Packed Opening Rounds for Wienen

The 2023 AMA ATV MX PRO National Championship has two races underway for Wienen Motorsports’ Chad Wienen.

Round 1, the ATVSX round, was hosted by Daytona International Speedway where Chad Wienen earned first in his heat race. He followed up in the main event by coming out of the first turn in third and making a move for second before the end of lap one. Wienen went on to conclude the race in second.

Round 2 took to Gainsville, FL at Gatorback MX. Wienen was battling for the hole shot in moto 1 and resulted in a crash and coming off of the machine. Wienen was able to finish the race but the crash caused a broken collar bone. For the first time in 12 years, Wienen did not make both gate drops of the Pro class.

Wienen underwent a successful surgery last week and is on the mend. He is in hopes he can strengthen his injury enough to compete in Round 3 at Underground MX in Kemp, Texas April 8.
