Race Report: Monster Mountain National

Westley Wolfe traveled south to Tallassee, Alabama for the Inaugural Monster Mountain ATVMX National this past weekend, June 4 and 5. This race served as the fifth round of the 2016 ProX ATV Motocross National Championship (ATVMX).

With rainfall throughout the morning, the track conditions were once again less than desirable when Wolfe lined up for the first moto of Pro Sport on Saturday. After an unfavorable start where he sat in the tenth position going across the holeshot line. Wolfe was able to work his way into sixth by the time the four-lap race was complete.

Due to the amount of rain that occurred on Saturday night track officials were forced to cancel the second day of racing which included Wolfe’s second Pro Sport moto in addition to both motos for Pro-Am.

“I really liked the track at Monster Mountain,” said Wolfe. “It’s a bummer that the races on Sunday were cancelled, but hopefully we can return next year so I will be able to redeem myself and take home a set of first places.”

Wolfe currently sits in second in points and will continue his quest for the championship in two weeks, June 18 and 19, at Sunset Ridge MX Park in Walnut, Illinois.
