Tuesday, April 12, 2016 | 9:30 AM

Rain and Shine Chad Wienen was prepared for anything this past weekend at Round 2 of the AMA ATV Pro MX National Series in Kemp, Texas. Wienen qualified second throughout the morning practices and knew as the day went on the track conditions were only going favor great racing more and more.

For moto 1, weather conditons were dry and overcast but when the gate dropped it was all about racing. Wienen crossed the SSi Decals holeshot line out front but was unable to make it to the second corner holding the front position. Pressuring the rider in first, Wienen was able to sweep around the outside of a burn on the second lap and made the pass for first stick. Wienen went on to ride a smooth race and finished the moto with a nine second gap between himself and the rest of the field.

Mother nature stopped by for moto 2, and the rain started coming down heavily when the Pros were on their sight lap. Determined to grab another holeshot, Wienen put his head down and did just that not allowing the muddy conditions to hinder his racing. Wienen was able to get out front and have a clear path to the rest of moto 2 and he grabbed his second checkers for the win once again with a nine second lead on the field.

"Besides the weather, the day couldn't have gone any more perfect. Grabbing two holeshots in a weekend is a big deal and very exciting for me. My team, Malaska Motorsports and I have put in a lot of work in the off season getting our engine program stronger and faster and pulling those holeshots really attributes to all of the hours and hard work that went into it. I am happy to finally be back on our race routine being every other weekend from here to Loretta's and I'm ready to get back to work to keep extending my points lead." said Wienen.
