Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs’ team finishes off the Mt. Dew AMA ATV motocross series season with Ronnie Higgerson finishing 5th and Casey Martin 10th at Loretta Lynn’s MX in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee this past weekend.
The #665 of Ronnie Higgerson finally had momentum and luck on his side as he entered the final round of the season. With one final goal for this season of getting on the podium Higgerson put in a spectacular ride in the next to last pro moto trying to reach the podium. After a sixth place start in moto one Higgerson would push himself as hard as he could battling with series contender Thomas Brown for third place. At the end of the moto Higgerson would cross the finish line in fourth. The second moto of the day would shape up to be a mirror image of Red Bud as Higgerson and Jeffrey Rastrelli would trade positions for most of the race, but this time around Higgerson would go onto pass Rastrelli and set his sights on David Haagsma for fourth until running out of time in the race. “I can’t believe the 2015 season is already over, it seems like only yesterday we were down in Florida training and prepping for the start of the season. As good as I'm riding right now I wish the season was only half over but we will keep this momentum rolling through the off season and gain even more through the months to come. I’m going to continue to train and work harder than ever as if the next round is only weeks away and will come out in 2016 as a top 3 contender every round. I can't thank my sponsors, family, friends and everybody that supported me enough. Without all of your hard work, dedication and determination we have made this season the best one I have ever had,” said Higgerson.
Casey Martin finished off his 2015 season much like he started with smooth consistent laps leading to another solid top ten finish. Martin, whom only planned on attending the first round of the year due to work obligations was able to come to Loretta’s with limited seat time and finish 10th the first moto and 11th in the second moto. With an abbreviated season in the pro class Martin was still able to finish a respectable 14th overall in points. “We wrapped up the final round of the ATV Motocross nationals yesterday and I can't thank the Vechery’s and Tim Dettling enough for the opportunity to race for them this year. It has been a lot of fun all season but also pretty rough considering I raced all year with zero training,” said Martin.
Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs Satellite support rider Alex Pafford would go onto finish seventh in School Boy Sr. and third overall in Youth All Star. Alex would finish in the top eight overall in both classes for year end points. Youth rider Tristan Evans continued his dominance of four classes taking home a first, second, and two ninth place overall finishes. Tristan ended the season with a championship in 90 Automatic Sr., runner up in 70 Automatic, fourth in 90 Open Jr. and fifth in 90 Shifter.
“This season was full of highs and lows for the team. From Timmy breaking his wrist in Daytona, Bryce breaking his back in New York to Ronnie giving the team its best overall finish to date and Casey pulling a Pro Holeshot at Red Bud it sure was an exciting year. We can’t thank all of our sponsors enough for their dedication to our program as well as the people behind the scenes that make this team so special. We hope to see everyone next year,” stated team owner Gloria Vechery.
