The Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer riders were at it again this weekend and were back on the podium for Round 3 at the Maxxis Bluegrass Ballance Moto X National. Chad Wienen claimed his second overall this weekend and Thomas Brown grabbed his third third place podium finish.
Even in the mud the Wienen Motorsports team was able to power their machines to the front of the field in moto one. Wienen grabbed his first SSi Decals Holeshot Award of the season and Thomas Brown also had a great start coming out of the first turn in third. Brown was able to secure the second place position before the end of lap one. Both riders maintained their positions as the checkers flew and Wienen finished with a twenty-five second on the rest of the field taking his first moto win this year.
“Really pumped on the second place finish in the first moto. Our team really had our machines dialed in with a good mud set up and was able to come off the gate at the front of the field. Maxxis Tires were really hooking up out there. I’m happy with my consistant finishes and placing on the podium each round but really looking forward to getting closer to the top of the box!” said Brown.
As moto two rolled around, both Wienen Motorsports riders had a bad start to the race and both came out in the back of the field. Wienen quickly made his way up to the eighth place position and had to continue to battle his way up. Before the end of the moto Wienen made his way up to the third place position and was able to secure the overall win for the weekend. Brown also made his way through the field but was only able to make his way up into the seventh place position but was still able to clinch the third place overall for the weekend.
“I was able to run a good and comfortable pace in moto one to take my first moto win of the year. Moto two start didn’t go as I had hoped but was able to make my way through the field to finish in third and come out of another mud weekend with the overall and was able to extend the series points lead. I am really happy with the Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer results thus far this season we would be the only team with three consecutive wins without all of your hard work and commitment and we really appreciate that! Special thanks to SSi, Walsh, Yamaha, Maxxis, Team Vollmer, FMF, Fly Racing, Scott Goggles, Fox Shox, K&N, image Racing, Hinson Clutch Components and Malaska Motorsports,” said Wienen.
