Blountville, TN (April 14, 2013)ƒ‚ —“ After torrential rains and threats of severe storms washed out the first Pro-Am race of the year, Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs rider Tim Dettling hoped to prove a point at the first Pro-Am race for the year at Muddy Creek by going 1 - 1 and securing his first overall win ever in the highly competitive Pro-Am class.

With 30 riders signing up for Sundayƒ’s Pro-Am races Dettling would find himself in the second heat where he would grab the holes hot on his Hetrick powered Honda and continued to click off consistent laps en route to a first place finish in dominant fashion.

As the gate was ready to drop for the second moto, Dettling knew he would have his hands full with Never Sleep Designs supported Ronnie Higgerson who won Heat one earlier in the day. After finding himself in the 6thƒ‚ position after the first lap Dettling began to put down blazing laps along with Higgerson until he passed his way into the number one position again with five laps to go. Dettling would end up crossing the finish line in first place after a hard fought battle with Higgerson that would have the fans lining the track watching the intense battle play out.

Prior to Sundayƒ’s Pro-Am racing, Dettling would qualify for his first professional AMA race ever and line up with 20 of the fastest racers in the country. With another impressive hole shot, Dettling would pass his way into fifth place and find himself running with last yearƒ’s AMA champion Chad Wienen and former champion John Natalie. As the race continued on Dettling made a few mistakes and would end up crossing the finish line in 12thƒ‚ place.

With the second moto gate drop Dettling once again found himself in the top ten battling it out with the veterans of the class as he and Joe Byrd battled around the track for sixth place. As the laps wore on Dettling would only get passed by Josh Upperman and would settle in and finish in the eighth spot giving the AMA ATV Pro rookie ninth overall in his first pro race.

ƒ“That was the hardest thing I have ever done. You can practice 30 minute motos all the time, but racing in the Pro Class is a whole new world. I am really happy to have been able to finish in the top ten in my first ever pro race and to win Pro-Am is even better. I really could not have done this without all the support of the Vechery Racing team and our sponsors,ƒ” said Dettling.

Vechery Racing makes their way to Ballance MX in Bowling Green, Kentucky on April 27thƒ‚ and 28thƒ‚ for round 3 of the AMA Mtn. Dew ATV MX National Championship Series.
