I would like to take this time to welcome Mt. Dew as the title sponsor in 2013. The Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championships will hopefully get a boost and a little more recognition in the mainstream with such an influential outside the industry sponsor. The way the press release reads, this should be an exceptional marriage for the two and I can't wait to "get all jacked up on Mt. Dew".
As I have been extremely busy with other personal projects I unfortunately have not really been able to keep up with the goings on around the ATV Racin' Nation. I was able to gather a little intel and it all still points the positive for the new year. Facebook, Twitter and the social forums have been lighting up lately and the excitement continues to build.
I had a chance to speak with former AMA Pro ATV Motocross champ Dustin Wimmer earlier this week and he is doing good. He told me he is helping with his parents at their boat business and life was real good. He also said he hasn't given up on the ATV completely. As many already know he has been conducting riding schools and keeps his skills brushed. One can only hope that Dustin make an appearance in the near future racing or not.
I also had a chance to share some words with Adam Houchin who ran the 4-Stroke last year. Adam said things didn't work out quite like he planned and he is working harder and making a complete change in 2013. Adam said he just moved up to the new YFZ450R for this year, He also said that behind him for support this year from great folks like Dynamite ATV/SSi Decals/Fox Shocks/Moto-Xperts/Motoworks/DWT/Gaerne/Fly Racing /EKS Brand/Motul/Gt Thunder. He said "I am working on a new training program getting into shape and be as best I've been yet. I plan to run 7 out of10 nationals and as many local round between as I can. I am looking very hard to be on the podium several times in the 4-stroke B an open B classes and not decided to join the 25+ junior yet with 3 classes it will be a challenge for sure." No doubt it will be a challenge and exciting to see how it works out for him.
Can Am made the big announcement of their team rosters for 2013 and it looks like support is plenty for riders racing the Can Am machines and contingency looks to be through the roof. Nick Gennusa, the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Nationals Amateur Rider of the Year, will be racing under the BCS Can Am in the Pro Am class. This should be interesting as Gennusa showed quick improvement in the A class working with for former Pro ATV Champ Travis Spader.
And before I go, if the winter blues are getting you down and you need a fix of ATV MX really fast, check out www.RacerTVOnline.com for complete coverage from this past seasons Pro Class battles.
That's it for now. Till next time, God Bless Your Heart and All Your Vital Organs.
