Record Entries at ATV Dirt Days
HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn. (Aug. 10, 2008) -- A record 836 entries checked in for this weekend's ATV Dirt Days at Loretta Lynn Ranch. The more than 27% jump in entries from last year represent the most this season for the ITP Tires/Moose Racing AMA/ATVA National Championship Presented by Parts Unlimited.
The previous record for this year was 732, set in March at Millcreek Raceway in Alabama.
"This race traditionally attracts the most riders of the season, but we're ecstatic about the turnout," said Carrie Coombs Russell, who heads up Racer Productions, this weekend's promoter. "With high fuel prices and other economic issues, these numbers are even more telling and demonstrate that the sport of ATV racing is still growing. In addition, with support from OEMs, as well as our sponsors, our team owners and riders, ATV racing is certain to continue this unprecedented growth."
Racing concludes today with Pro finals scheduled for noon and 3 p.m. CDT.
