The final round of the 2021 AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship concluded at Briar Cliff MX in Nashport Ohio this past weekend where Chad Wienen secured his eighth national championship title after finishing 2-2.

Racing was tight all weekend long. Wienen secured both holeshots in the motos and with fast laps Wienen was passed and landed back into second around halfway in each moto.

With the 2021 season officially ending, I am immensely humbled to have secured our 8th National Championship this weekend. Looking back, it has been a decade since I was in an accident where for a moment the future was unsure. Since then, resetting our program has led us to where we are currently but I couldn’t have done it without the teamwork and support from everyone who stands behind me. Grateful to be able to live out my dream and to have my family and friends support along the way.

I race against some fierce competitors and it’s a community that turns into family, it was a season full of clean, honest racing and even with it being my 16th season it’s still fun every time the gate drops. Ripping those last two moto holeshots definitely topped off the weekend. The last few months have been some of the best I’ve felt in my career and I am pumped to continue to push forward.

The rain came down Saturday night for a true mud race for the Pro Stock class on Sunday. Wienen came out of the first turn in the top five both motos. In moto 1, Wienen moved his way up into third by the end of the checkers and in moto 2 held onto second place for second overall on the day. Securing second overall also secured the Pro Stock class championship for Wienen as well.

I am looking forward to some off season time and spending time with my family and to start our prep for the 2022 season. Each season proves to hold more and more competition and I am looking forward to once again bettering our program and competing for that number one spot in 2022.
