Congratulations to the 2020 ATV Motocross
Specialty Award Winners and National Champions
Chad Wienen Celebrated Seventh AMA Pro Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 24, 2020) – The ATV Motocross National Championship (ATVMX), an AMA National Championship, traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky on November 14 for the awards banquet, organized and managed by 88 Live to Ride, Inc. In addition to the coveted AMA Pro ATV Championship, there were 43 National Championships and eight specialty awards presented upon completion of the 2020 race season.

Chad Wienen finished out the season 10 points ahead of second place with five overall wins, as well as five second place overall finishes securing his seventh AMA Pro ATV National Championship. Joel Hetrick brought home the SSi Decals Holeshot Award after earning 15 holeshots throughout the 2020 season and clinching the DirtNation.com Top Qualifier Award with six top qualifying positions this year.

The AMA Pro Rookie of the Year Award identifies the first-year professional rider who shows the most improvement as they make their professional debut. Bryce Ford took home this prestigious award after his fourth-place overall finish in the AMA Pro division. Ford also finished on the overall podium twice this season, with a third at round 5, Pleasure Valley and round 8, 3 Palms Action Sports.

Max Lindquist claimed top honors as the Amateur Rider of the Year. The Wisconsin native clinched the Pro-Am championship, while finishing third in the Pro Stock championship standings. Lindquist is looking to make his AMA Pro debut in 2021.

The Youth Rider of the Year Award is given to a youth rider who excelled in all divisions of racing. This year the award went to Jayden Londerville after taking the top spot in the championship points in three classes: Youth All-Star (14-17), 250 Mod (13-15) and Schoolboy Sr. (14-17).

Michael Byrd was recognized as the Mechanic of the year after successfully helping Chad Wienen earn his seventh AMA Pro ATV Championship under some of the most adverse conditions throughout a season. Byrd was able to vault Wienen to the top with his extensive skillset, where Wienen never finished lower than second overall during the 2020 season.

Riders who competed in majority of the Production Stock rounds were eligible for the chance to win a brand new YFZ450R thanks to the Yamaha blu cru contingency program for the 2020 season. Mason Hunt was the lucky winner of the brand new YFZ450R. The 88 Live to Ride along with 7S Cycles’ donated a SSR125 pit bike as a giveaway item at the banquet, which went to Blair Miller.

Thomas Brown, who in July announced this would be his last time lining up as a full-time AMA Pro ATV racer, celebrated his third overall finish to the 2020 season. Brown stated that he is excited for the next chapter of his life, whether he continues to train riders or go on a different path.
