Wienen Second Overall in South Carolina
2-2 Finish for Wienen at Round 4

Round 4 of the AMA ATV MX Pro National Championship headed to South of the Border MX in Hamer, South Carolina this past weekend and Wienen Motorsports rider Chad Wienen finished 2-2 for the day taking second overall.

First turn in moto 1 Wienen came out just inside the top five. He moved into third by the end of the first lap and as a three-way battle for second played out, Wienen fell back into fourth on lap three. Wienen continued to push forward and just after halfway through was able to make a pass back into the third place position and started to focus on the rider in second. Two laps later, Wienen had closed in and was able to make a pass for second where he finished out moto 1.

As the gate dropped for moto 2, Wienen was off to a similar start inside the top five. Knowing he had to make quick work to apply pressure to the rider out front, Wienen quickly made a pass into second at halfway through the moto there was a four second gap between Wienen and the rider out front. By the time the checkers flew Wienen was within three seconds but went on to take another second place finish.

"I had a solid weekend at Round 4 with a 2-2 finish for second overall and extending our points lead. Speed on track was really good along with my endurance. My starts were a little off but I was able to make my way up into second each moto. I am looking forward to the next gate drop. Thank you to my sponsors and support group for everything you do." Said Wienen

Wienen also competed in the Premier Stock Pro class at Round 4. Wienen turned his starts around in the muddy first moto of the day and grabbed the holeshot. He continued to lead a majority of the race but was passed and once again went on to finish second in moto 1. In moto 2, Wienen had a hard fought battle with multiple lead changes with fellow Yamaha rider, Thomas Brown. With less than a second separating the two, Wienen was able to secure the moto 2 win at the end of the moto.

The series will continue onto Round 5 at Muddy Creek MX in Blountville, Tennessee on May 25 and 26.
