Nick Moser Victorious in South of the Border ATV Motocross
Kyler Lenz Motorsports / Amped Apparel ATV Motocross Round 2 Report

Kyler Lenz Motorsports/Amped Apparel rider Nick Moser swept the motos in the 25+ class and scored the overall victory during the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship race at South of the Border MX in Hamer, SC. Sam Rowe was running competitively in the Pro class when an overheating issue took him out of contention.

Moser, who came out of retirement after a two-year hiatus, showed he still had the competitive spirit as he dominated the 25+ class. He took the holeshot in both motos and led every lap. The first moto was run under dry conditions, and Moser was thankful to get first gate pick in the second moto, which was muddy and slick.

“Heading into round three with two wins under our belt is a great way to start out the season,” said Moser. “Hetrick Racing got our bike ready for this race and my first race on the 6.5 Alpha went great. My Maxxis Tires hooked up great both motos and got me two holeshots. The track has a lot of rough braking bumps, so the PEP suspension got me through the race.”

Rowe got a mid-pack start in the first moto and quickly got up to speed. He finished seventh. In the second moto, the engine on his quad began to overheat, so he had to nurse it to the finish line in 15th. He finished 13th overall.

“In the first moto, I got a decent start, I made some moves and felt strong the entire time,” said Rowe. “In the second moto, my bike started pushing out coolant and got really hot so I backed off. I finished the race, but I wasn’t able to fully compete. We have a few things to work out and we’ll be ready for Underground MX. The Maxxis Tires hooked up great. The whole bike worked well and it’s good to be on the Kyler Lenz Motorsports Team.”

Kyler Lenz Motorsports heads next to Underground MX in Kemp, TX April 14-15 for the third round of ATV Motocross competition, which has a $50,000 Purse for pros and amateurs in honor of our fallen racers.
