The New York crowd witnessed some of the closest racing of the 2016 season with a three-way battle for the lead the entire first moto. Wienen came out of the first turn in the top five and quickly made his way into third by the end of the first lap. Wienen made a pass into second on the second lap and continued to ride in second until there were three laps to go. With less than two seconds between the front three riders, Wienen was passed and fell back to the third place position but with one lap to go, Wienen moved back into second and finished out the remainder of the moto.

With intensity high in the pit, fans were anxious to get moto 2 started. Wienen sped off the gate and grabbed the moto 2 holeshot. Wienen put his head down and began putting distance between him and the rest of the field. Riding consistent laps, Wienen went on to grab the moto 2 win and the overall on the day.

"Unadilla has not been known to be my style of track but I have now taken a few overalls home from here over my pro career. We were running a fast pace all weekend and I knew how important the holeshot would be and I just really focused on that as we went to the line for the second moto. I'm happy to be leaving another weekend with no points lost and heading to my favorite track on the circuit RedBud here in a few weeks." Said Wienen.
