Wienen grabbed the Fastest Qualifier Award throughout the morning practice.

With a bad start in moto 1, Wienen had to work his way up through the field after he came out of the first turn around the ninth place position. Wienen knew he had to make quick passes before the field settled in and he sat in sixth place at the end of the first lap. Wienen continued to move forward and worked his way up to third by the fourth lap. Even with putting down the fastest lap in moto 1, Wienen was unable to make a clean pass to move any further up in the field.

Moto 2 got off to a much better start for Wienen, coming out of the first turn in third. It wasn't until the fourth lap that Wienen was able to make any passes but he was able to move up two positions into the lead. Wienen once again had the fastest lap time in moto 2 and was able to extend a comfortable lead on the rest of the field.

With his 3-1 finish on the day, Wienen grabbed second overall at Round 3.
