Site Lap: What's Up?! - ATV Motocross

The 2013 post season of the Mtn. Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championship is rolling by very quickly. I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way but I am sure for some the absence of racing may be too much. Hopefully we will be able to catch up over the next few weeks on what’s been happening and what the future holds.

First off, all apologies for the hit and…..well maybe the miss of Site Lap recently and other than being really busy and tied up at all the wrong times, I have no excuse. However, things are starting to get a little more normal and hopefully we can keep the information flowing and ramp up to the new 2014 ATV MX Nationals.

Though many of us may be feeling the effect of the off season, many have made their way to Kemp, Texas for the ATV Pro Challenge in Memory of Caleb Moore. Most of all the top ATV Motocross racing star in the industry is making their bid for the lion’s share of a $30,000.00 Pro Purse. Many of the national motocross championship racers as well as some of the top NEATV, Mid-West, West Coast and TQRA riders were invited to this unique opportunity to celebrate one the industry’s greatest pioneers in ATV Freestyle. Caleb Moore could not have a more fitting tribute in his name and the opportunity for all the ATV Racin’ Nations to gather is quite an honor as well. Somehow Caleb touched each series in some way and everyone felt like they lost a brother when Caleb was lost during X-Games in a Snowmobile Freestyle competition. Hopefully next week we can get some firsthand reports from some of the competitors both pro and amateur. In the meantime we will have to stay posted to Twitter and Facebook and of course www.ATVRiders.com as well as www.ATVUnderground.com. Good luck to all and I can’t wait to hear the news.

Other than that of course is the 2013 Mtn. Dew AMA ATV Motocross National Championships Awards Ceremony. It is being held once again at the magnificent Waterfront Place Hotel in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia on Saturday November 2^nd. Top ten finishers from every class will be honored and recognized at the annual “Night of Champions” banquet. One thing you may want to schedule for your Sunday morning following the Night of Champions celebration is the annual rules discussion meetings held there at the facility. Details for the 2014 class rules and structure will be up for opinions and comments and this will be a good time to voice your feelings with anything good or not as good you like so that the series can keep ever evolving along with the industry.

That’s going to be a lot of riders honored and should prove to be a fun night. As well we will all get to get together under noncompetitive circumstances and let the good times roll so to speak. It was seriously an epic season on so many fronts and as rough as may have seemed at times, it was all worth it in the end.
