LAS VEGAS -- Racer Productions was honored by the AMA as Off Road Organizer of the Year and ATVA Organizer of the Year at the annual awards banquet Friday night at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. The event capped off another exciting season for Racer Productions, the worldwide leader in off-road racing.

AMA Off Road Organizer of the Year
With average participation of more than 1,400 unique riders from all over the world per event, Racer Productions' Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series is the premiere off-road racing series worldwide.
It is also one of the richest, as riders compete for over $3 million in series prizes and contingency money. Television coverage expanded this season to more than 56 countries, with Versus network carrying weekly telecasts stateside.

Cross country racing is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world. The nearly three-hour long GNCC races lead as many as 1,800 riders through tracks ranging from eight to twelve miles in length. With varied terrain including hills, woods, mud, dirt, rocks and motocross sections, GNCC events are tests of both survival and speed.  The 13-round championship series has been produced exclusively by Racer Productions since 1973.  For more information on the Can-Am GNCC series, log on to www.gnccracing.com.

ATVA Organizer of the Year

As a member of the ATVAPG, Racer Productions hosts two rounds of the ITP/Moose Racing ATVA National Motocross Championships: the ATV Stampede at High Point Raceway in Pennsylvania and the ATV Dirt Days at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Tennessee. Racer Productions also hosted the first ATV Open at Steel City Raceway this season, held in conjunction with the AMA Toyota Motocross Championships. The ATV Open marked the first time ATV Pro Racing shared a national track on a national weekend with its two-wheeled brethren.

This season marked a pivotal year for ATV racing, as ATVA moved the pro class to AMA Pro Racing, issuing pro licenses for the first time in history. In addition, for the first time ever, the ITP/Moose Racing National Motocross Champion, Joe Byrd, was recognized as part of the AMA Pro Racing banquet Sunday night.  For more information on the AMA/ATVA National Motocross series, log onto www.atvmotocross.com.
