LAS VEGAS -- Two ITP/Moose Racing AMA/ATVA National Motocross promoters were honored at the Annual AMA Sports Award Banquet Friday night at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. Racer Productions was honored as ATVA Organizer of the Year, and 4P Promotions received accolades as Motocross Organizer of the Year.

““We are extremely proud of the two most recognized promoters in the country making up part of the AMA Pro ATV Racing series,” said Harv Whipple, AMA Pro ATV Racing Referee and Series Manager.

As members of the ATVPG (ATV Promoters Group), Racer Productions and 4P Promotions host rounds of the AMA/ATVA National Motocross Championships.  Racer Productions hosts the ATV Stampede at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, PA and the ATV Dirt Days at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN.  Racer Productions also hosted the first ATV Open this season at Steel City Raceway in Delmont, PA, held in conjunction with the AMA Toyota Motocross Championships. The ATV Open marked the first time ATV Pro Racing shared a national track on a national weekend with its two-wheeled brethren.

As one of the newest venues on the AMA/ATVA national motocross circuit, 4P Promotions hosted a national round at its Sunset Ridge facility in Walnut, IL. For the ATV National, 4P Promotions teamed up with the professional staff of Red Bud’s Amy Ritchie and crew.  In fact, this prestigious award was bestowed on Red Bud MX in 2006, so the lessons learned were clearly well-received by the staff of 4P Promotions.

““The 4P staff was great to work with and really embraced the subtle differences in prepping and maintaining a racetrack for ATV’s as opposed to motorcycles,” commented Amy Ritchie of Red Bud MX.

This season marked a pivotal year for ATV racing, as ATVA moved the pro class to AMA Pro Racing, issuing pro licenses for the first time in history. In addition, for the first time ever, the ITP/Moose Racing National Motocross Champion, Joe Byrd, was recognized as part of the AMA Pro Racing banquet Sunday night.

The 11-round 2008 ITP/Moose Racing AMA Pro ATV Motocross season kicks off March 9th at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, CA. The 10-round 2008 ATVA motocross series starts March 29 & 30th at Mill Creek Raceway in Pell City, AL.  For more information about AMA Pro ATV and ATVA Motocross, visit www.atvmotocross.com.
